Oats are better creamy. I'm positive that's why these oats work so well. Sure the flavors are great. Warm cinnamon & cool vanilla swirled together through tart yogurt right beside sweet chia studded strawberry jam is perfect and all, but it's the smooth creamy textures that make this a warm & satisfying bowl of everything you wanted this morning.
Berries & Cream Oats
MAKES 2 SERVINGS
- 1 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- pinch salt
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt
- splash vanilla extract
- pinch cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons homemade strawberry chia seed jam
- fresh berries
Bring milk to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat. Add in oats & a pinch of salt, reduce to a simmer and cook until oats are tender and milk has all been absorbed.
While oats are cooking stir a splash of vanilla extract and a pinch of ground cinnamon into greek yogurt to taste. When oats are done, spoon evenly into two bowls, dollop with yogurt & strawberry jam. Top with fresh berries & enjoy!.
