Don’t have the time or the energy to grill? Love steak, but need quick protein to go? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions then this recipe is the perfect compromise for you. Tender and juicy steak, cut into bite size pieces that cook up quick and flavorful in grass-fed butter & fragrant herbs… if your mouth isn’t watering then you aren’t even human.
This recipe is so simple. It uses…
flat iron steak - One of my favorite cuts of meat. It comes from the cow shoulder and is super tender and flavorful.
Kerrygold butter - Once again, not sponsored, but the way we go through kerrygold at my house we should be. Kerrygold is butter made from the milk of Irish grass-fed cows. It’s creamy, high quality, and beautiful. Quality is key here.
garlic - To fend off the vampires.
fresh or dried herbs - I think the best for steak are by far thyme and rosemary.
Since the steak is cut into bite sized chunks before cooking, not only do you get a tasty sear on all sides, but they also cook up in no time! If I don’t eat them all right after I cook them, I save the rest in a sealable tupperware container in the fridge and use these lovely bite sized chunks as pop-able protein for a snack or I thin slice a piece or two to throw in my veggies for veggie, steak, & eggs in the morning!
Butter & Herb Steak Bites
1.5 lb Flat Iron Steak
1-2 Tbsp Kerrygold Butter
3 tsp minced garlic
Salt & Pepper
Cut your flat iron steak into 1 inch chunks.
Melt butter over medium high heat in a medium or large sized sautee pan. Add garlic & a healthy sprinkling of fresh or dried herbs. Let sizzle for a minute, but be sure not to let anything burn.
Add in your steak chunks and cook, stirring occasionally until you get a nice browned sear on each side and they are cooked through to your liking.
